Cleaner needed.........?......UPDATE.

Hi Folks......The iodized receiver on my old Ithaca 600 is very tarnished and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get it to shine like before. Of course, it's 30 years old and more, but I'm a lot older and I clean up nicely. What do you recommend? I've used Brasso and other such stuff, but nothing helps......What do you think?
Also, please excuse the size of the photo....

I got the Flitz from Brownells and applied the first coat. Needless to say, I like it.....[:D][:D][^][^]

    If you don't want to pay for the shipping, just about any of the fancy tire/wheel stores or large auto parts stores handle it. Normally get mine from NAPA.

    I got a 1.76 oz tube of this stuff. So, at my age, I doubt if I will ever need more. Just a little dab will do ya....or was that Brylcreem? [:D][:D]

    What is this...? Some kinda front Row, Hand Clapping Testamonial ?Only Joking Kids...That Reciever definately Cleaned up! Gonna have to go to the Local Hardware Store and see if they have some? Got a Question ..... After it was applied, was it Rubbed or Buffed...Is the Sharp Edges of the Engraving Rounded off or Still there? Best....

    Kirk- Flitz is a cream...not abrasive.Rub it on and rub it off with a piece of cloth.No detail is lost. You can't believe how it cleans up a rusty surface and leaves the blue.I even use it to polish my aluminium wheels.Works on all metals including brass, stainless,and nickle plate.I do alot of antique restoration and have even used it to polish bakelite like you find on the old crank telephones, and smoking pipe bits.

    Cap...I got an old sock and put my hand inside and just applied a dab to one finger. Then, I rubbed it on an area for a little bit and then buffed briskly with the clean sock. No work at all and it just took a couple of minutes for one side of the receiver. I tried a toothbrush, but it didn't seem to work any better then just rubbing and buffing......[^][^]
