Charles Daly Rifles
I am looking for a good left handed rifle that does not cost a fortune I have come upon Charles Daly, can anyone tell me if this is a good rifle or should I steer clear? My second option is to go with the Browning A-Bolt Hunter, however it is a bit of a jump in price. Not sure what to do. The Daly is a 30-06LH for $453, and the Browning is a .300 WSM LH for $595.00. I plan to use this rifle for Texas white tails on up to Elk.

The Charles Daly is the current version of what used to be the Iterarms Mark X commercial Mauser action. These actions were regularly used to build fine custom rifles and are sought after to do that still. They are according to reputation a good basic rifle and should be up to a life times worth of hunting. Those that I know who have the earlier Mark Xs think that they are as good as anything out there on the market today. I doubt that you will be disappointed if you buy the Charles Daly. 0 -

nice write up on C. Daly Mauser by Wayne Van Zwoll. He seemed to like everything about the field grade tested, including adj. trigger.
Only sort of negative was the injection molded plastic stock. It was OK but I got the feeling he felt there were better synthetic stocks. Otherwise, said nothing but good about it.0 -
I believe you can get a new Ruger MKII for that price or a hair more. Also Savage makes some great shooting leftys for much les than the Daly.
