Star Model B
Anyone have any experience with the older Star 1911 clones? I'm looking at a Model BMin 9mm. Looks like a Commander size version of the model B. I picked up a full-sized 9mm in the late 60s and it was a nice piece. I don't remember what the model was but it was similiar to a 1911 but did not have a grip safety. I bought it for practically nothing and traded it later. Thanks

I need some help here. I have a Star Model b in 9m/m Para. Pistol has been shooting flawlessly. Took it out today, and the first 20 shots or so fired just fine. Then the slide stopped coming back in recoil leaving the fired case in the chamber. Slide seemed a little hard to get back to eject case, but no real problem. This happened a couple of times. I disassembled the pistol, cleaned and oiled it, again no luck. I have tried several types of ammo so I am ruling out the ammo. Any ideas?

A lot of BM's have come into the US, recently. They were sold at quite reasonable prices,-$150.00.

They are great pistols. I have had several of the older 1911 style surplus pistols in 9mm and 9mm Largo. My experience has been that they are well made and reliable, and an excellent value.

the STAR MODEL A / STAR MODEL B are easily ranked among the top 25 combat handguns of all time. these are not your run of the mill, poorly made copies, but well designed, proven, superb handguns.
i own a STAR MODEL A (1922 variant) in 9mm LARGO, and my father owns a STAR MODEL SUPER B in 9mm LUGER. both guns exhibit exeptional accuracy, and we have used them in match level compatitions. they eat and feed almost any ammo type (some extreme / gold dot style hollowpoints do not cycle well) and are durable. the MODEL BM and other types are also superb.
these guns have a strong following. many people neglect, or forget these guns when discussing what makes a high quality, durable, accuratte, reliable combat handgun...
they just do not know what there talking about.
