Colt Det. Spec. ??'s

Bought this one last week at a pawn shop. Ejector rod isn't shrouded and it has the large wooden grips with a Colt medallion like Diamondback grips. I assume they are replacements. The serial number is A163xx. Could you tell me the year made? Thanks!

  According to Colt's Dates of Manufacture by R. L. Wilson, the Det Spec was made in 1970.

  Thank you for the information on the date of manufacture. I always like to include that in my firearms record book when I record a new purchase.
