10-22 metal hi-cap mag question

Anybody know about function and price for a new/unused 30 round metal 10/22 Bingham/Taylor LTD. magazine ? Problems with them ? Seller says he tried to fit mag into his gun and doesn't and that filing may be required . Thanks in advance , SxS

    It's supposed to fit into the Bingham adaptor, which locks itself into place with a cam-fit finger lever. Filing on it won't make the wrong piece fit where it don't go.

    Thanks for the info , if I can find said adaptor do you guys think they were any good or should I pass all together ?

    I've never owned one, but a fella at my club has one and a couple mags and I've never seen him have a problem, nor has he mentioned having any. However, if this is a mag that someone is selling and they are talking about filing ... you may want to be careful as they might have screwed the mag up in trying to make it work.

    Is this what you are refering to? It does have the adapter as the picture show:

    Here's the link to a single mag in various angles but it's with a poor quality camera instead of a 35mm picture/scan as above. http://bambihunter.myftp.org/images/Bingham/

    Only the two mags without the stickers on them have ever even been inserted into the adapter.

    I've had them forever, I tried them once and they didn't fit then they've just sat in the safe ever since. I always thought they'd be cool since they are slim-line (barely over the width of the .22 shell) a person could carry one adaptor then carry several of the mags in their back pocket for quite a bit of firepower at the ready. I heard they are great, mine just never fit. Now, I hate to modify them since they are no longer made and with the AWB in place they are worth even that much more (though I think they'll still have a decent value even if it sunsets thanks to thier relative rarity).

    SXS, they are intriguing little buggers aren't they... I go to a couple gun shows a month and have for 10+ years and in all that time I've seen a total of two at a gun show and only one had an adaptor. I know they're out there, they're aren't as rare as my gun show experience makes them sound but they are still hard to find. Hopefully the AWB will expire and we can all start playing with Ram-line and Butler Creek high caps again. These Italian-made mags will still hold a premium even after it expires since they haven't been made since the 70's (I believe).
    I wish they fit the Bingham .22 rifle but I've been told repeatedly that they don't. [V]
