I've been told if you want to know what it's worth put it on gb., but i don't want to sell her. Can anybody tell me what a model 43 in 25-20 w/lyman reciever sights would be worth. I think that everything is original and the gun is in very good shape. excellent blue with only a very few minor stock dents. I enjoy shooting it except the reciever peep sight. For me, give me a scope or iron sights.

    Hello PJ...

The 50 year-old requirement is Federal... not PRK driven. That said, approximately 62,600 Model 43s were manufactured from 1949 - 1957, and the serial number that you listed might or might not be 50 years old as of this moment.

    Bert:
California strictly enforces the Federal 50 year rule. There are many rifles on the BATFE C & R list which are not 50 years old--Pre 64 Winchesters, Winchester Commemeratives, etc.--which are not C & R elligible in California as they are not 50 years old. Just another joy of living on the left coast. It looks by the S/N that I am out of luck!

    Pete...

I have been living in Anaheim for the past 22 months, and I have bought several C&R Winchesters (mostly from Little John's) with no problems. Admittedly, my C&R License has my permanent Washington state address on it, but I have had zero problems none the less. Maybe Mark C. can shed some light on this.

I'm sure the Washington address did the trick. Maybe I need to go on a road trip to Nevada or Oregon.
