Does anyone know of someone who does high quality european pistol refinishing in linclon California. thank you

John Martz is the gentleman your inquiring about. He is particularly noted for his phantasy Luger conversions (Baby .380., .45 ACP ), etc.etc.
When I was collecting, I didn't much care for his stuff. ( First time I ran across some of his handiwork in the early 70's, I like to fell on the floor ). For my money he should of just stuck to restorations.
Last time I heard anything about him, he had taken sick. I don't know if he is still with us?

I would thing long and hard before having a Webley Fosbery refinished.
I have owned several and sold them. As you know they are quite a rare
pistol. 1010 -

I agree with you, but if you saw this gun I believe that you would do the same. A lot of pitting, missing parts, no lettering... Could anyone guess what a nicely restored Webley Fosbery would be worth? 0 -

If your Fosbery is in such poor condition that replacement parts have to be fabricated and original markings and proofmarks have to be duplicated, a total restororation that makes it appear factory original would be prohibitly expensive.
In the past, I've had Lugers and other pistols professionally restored, by welding up the surface pitting and refinishing to original specs. It tooks months to complete and was very expensive.0 -
My biggest problem now is that I have been looking for another Webly Fosbery for over 2 years, and have had little luck. If it was a gun that was easily available I would not even consider doing it, but since they are so few and far between I want to jump on this one. Could anyone recommend someone to do the work. Go to the Lincoln rifle club (the outdoor range) on Saturday. Ask Dennis (the rangemaster) or Scott (part time gunsmith) for recommendations. Scott and Dennis are there pretty much every Saturday.
