What does the HSc stand for?

  "Hahn Selbstspanner" = selfcocking hammer, double action in English.
  
  c = Third pistol, or model in series.

  It stands for Type MODEL...The Mauser Pistol started life as the Code Model HsA..Then was improved and became the HsB...then became known as the HsC...All Model HsC pistols had the standard commercial markings: The Waffenamt stamp was WaA655 on early production and WaA135 on later production..There are variations to each Model..in design......
