reloading fed paper 12 ga hulls shotgun/trap

looking for ways to control moisture when reloading 12
ga fed paper hulls. Am using 2 dehumidifiers in basement
reloading area. Maybe silica gel packs in a sealed box-
to store boxes of shells. Any ideas welcome.

    Keep them in a slightly warmer area, like inside a mini-vault with a heating element, just to keep them a few degrees warmer.

    If you are having trouble with the mouths of the hulls getting soft, the old trick was to put them standing up on a cookie sheet in a
    200 degree oven for a few minutes until they "sweat" just a little, then cool. This brings the wax out again. I often could get 7 or 8 reliable reloads this way. Of course, we are talking about empty,
    non primed hulls here.

    Want a cheap way to keep them dry, loaded or MT...? Get an old refrig or freezer and wire in a 25 watt light bulb, leave it on all the time...many old time welders kept their rod dry and ready to go that way...Put a hasp and lock on it and its a vault........good luck.

    Learn from the mistakes of others, for you won't live long enough to make them all yourself....

    I have thought of another means to control moisture after leaving yesterdays message, but it involves a question. This is 2004, why reload papers? None of the problems exist with plastic, and if you really wanted you can apply sealant to plastic and store them in water, and unless you store the papers under some sort of control they will swell and not fit the chamber. My advise, go to plastic unless you just want to do or have something different than everybody else....but refrig/bulb will work.....

    Learn from the mistakes of others, for you won't live long enough to make them all yourself....
