how too remove ambi safty on kimber?

i have a kimber gold match 40 sw with the ambi safty.how do you get the ambi safty off too get the hammer etc out of the gun?thanks in advance don

Hello the safty should be made in 2 halfs with the shaft or pin going from one side to the other split so that each goes half way across the frame the joint is tongue and groove I would use a piece of leather to protect the finish and use it as a pad between the jaws of pliers and pull straight out this is one fault with change of this fine design by John Browning it makes for problems with take down . I know it looks good but a MIL SPEC gun does not have these problems. quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN"
