Help check my Powder Scale
Something doesn't seem right with my new powder scale. Does a penny weigh around 38.5 grains and a dime weigh around 35 grains? Thanks for any responses.

2004 penny 38.5 grains
1980 penny 48.5 [copper must have been heavier in the old days]
dime 35.2 grains0 -
Thanks for the confirmation- It must be me! 0 -
Check weights are relatively inexpensive and accurate.

Simpler than buying check weights is to weigh a bullet of a known weight. 50 or 55 grain bullet for my 22/250 works every time as a "check" for my scale 0 -
Do yourself a favor and buy checkweights. You want to be checking accuracy and sensitivity at the low end of the scale. Accuracy at the high end doesn't mean the scale will see the difference between
4 grains and 4.2 grains.0
