There was a revolver called the medusa and one ( 1 ) called the windecator by EAA the would fire ammunition in 9mm and 38 caliber, if i remember it had a spring in the extractor star to remove fired cases.

I've seen articles/websites describing these fanciful guns for several years, but I think that they are hoaxes like the "cell phone guns". I have not seen any evidence that they really exist. I have yet to find a distributor who can say "I have them in stock."

When you think about it, the concept is a solution to a non-existent problem. I can't remember ever needing to fire .380 ACP in my .357 mag revolver, or vice versa, or any of the other possible combinations. Besides, most of these calibers require different twist rates for accuracy, so, even if a gun could fire all of them, most wouldn't be accurate.

Besides, I don't know many shooters willing to pay $800-1,000 for a complex new technology that may or may not work, & certainly has limited usefulness.

As an encore, they're planning a derringer that will fire everything from .22 Shorts to .600 Nitro Express. [:D

    Nmyers,

It's not new and it works very well. I own a Medusa (the gun upon which the Skorpion is based) and it's reliable and accurate. Great gun. Not sure it's worth what Reeder's asking for it, but hey, we live in America! Live a little![:D]

That's kinda the stuff I was hoping to here. Is there one amoo or another that it likes more, like 9mm or .38 ? I'm hoping to here from more who have shot one or own one.

    Ginmaster,

My best shooting comes from either .38 special or .357 magnum. The problem with any round shorter than .357 magnum, though, is residue buildup. Once residue starts fouling the chambers, it can make extraction difficult, especially if the rounds you put in after are longer than the ones previously fired.

To be fair, this takes about a hundred rounds or so and is probably traceable to the fact that the tolerances on this thing are so high. If spent shells get gummed up, it's as simple as poking them out with a pencil or cleaning rod.

I recommend .38 and .357. 9mm will do very well, but accuracy suffers somewhat. I've also fired 9x23, .38 S&W, and .380 auto. 9x23 I hate regardless, so my opinion on it isn't valid. You'll be wasting your time with .380 auto, but it's nice to know that it fits.[;)]

Overall, the Medusa is a great gun. Mine came fitted with fiber optic sights, so no complaints there. Not sure what sights the Gary Reeder Skorpion has, but from what I can tell, he didn't change the Medusa up too much.

If you have the expendable cash, I say go for it.

This would be a long term goal. I'm not as well off as most of the forums population. The fact it shoots so many different cartridges is very desired. I would think it would make a great gun 100 years from now when(hopefully not, but possible given the current affairs in the world) my son is in whats left of the world defending his family and looking for ammo and ammo products. Just a thought[:D]
