Would $280. be a fair price for a Colt .22?
WOuld $280. be a fair price for a Colt .22 LR MODEL: Official Police CONDITION: VG SERIAL #: A57xx FINISH: Blue ????
I think it is 50+ years old (1946?) so would it be C & R?

I would double check the name of the model marked on the gun and the serial number. The Official Police .22 began in 1947 and the beginning serial number was 30001. There were none made with an "A" prefix on the serial number. The Police Positive Specials had an "A" prefix in their serial numbers in 1969 and 1970, but they also had a five digit serial number behind the prefix, not four as you say this gun has. Not sure they made in .22 LR during those two years but maybe somone knows if they did. Any Colt .22 LR revolver should be worth that price in my opinion in the condition you are stating. But, you might want to check the gun out more thoroughly and be sure of what it really is. 0
