researching firearm history
Howdy from Texas! I have gotten hold of a Remington Model 700 in 458 Mag. that I just love trying to control. I was informed that it is a customized gun, (cut to 20")from the Rem. custom shop from about 30 years ago. It's a beautiful gun, and I would like to learn all I can about it's DOM, what was changed on it from the original configuration, etc. It would be even better if I could get this in writing from the manufacturer. Does anyone know how I might could contact the person with this information? Is there a Rem. historian I should contact? I would be glad to pay a fee to get this information to keep with the rifle. Thanks in advance for any help! Hope it's cooler where you're at! Barry L.

I've had good luck in the past using the e-mail function on Remington's web-site. It's specifically set up to answer questions such as yours.
