SIG P229 Help
I have a Sig P229 in 40S&W that appears to be brushed stainless or chrome on both the slide and the frame, that I bought about 2 years ago. The gun was used but did not appear to have been fired more than a few rounds, and shoots great. My question is, I can not find anything on the Sig web sight about a model of 229 with both the slide and frame like this except the sport model of the 229, and this gun is not a sport mode. Does anyone know if Sig made any fractory guns like this. I am going to contact Sig tomorrow, but I thought I might save a phone call here. Thanks for any help.

SIG made some with nickel slides, but I never saw one fully nickeled.
Is the frame aluminum or steel? Aluminum is hard to plate.
Could it have been finished aftermarket?
I think you might have to call the factory and give them the serial number to see if this is an original finish.

Well I checked with the factory and it appears that I have an after-market finish on the gun, but who ever did the work appears to know what they were doing. Thanks for the help Nunn. Now I have to decide weather or not to sell it or keep it.
Not now, I'm busy reloading!!!!0 -
If the job was well done, and it pleases you, keep it. You have a very high quality and reliable pistol.
