Browning BT-100 OR BT-99

Hello.
I wanted to get a trap gun and was actually thinking about BT 100 but guys at my local range weren't in favor of this gun and were suggesting to go with 99 model. Any one owning either of them? PLZ drop your 2 cents. Any other suggestions on a good trap gun that won't make me sell my wife's car [;)]to buy it (1200$ can be used )are greatly appreciated.

    I used to have a bt-99, bought a bt-100 and sold the '99. adjustable trigger and much easyer to clean (shoots about the same). I also have a citori trap but I like the bt-100 better.

    I have a BT100 and have no complaints. But I think they went back to making 99s and may not make the 100s new anymore. Check it out to make sure before you get too excited unless you buy used.

    I have owned both the BT99 and the BT100, and also a BT99 plus. As far as I am concerned, you can not go wrong with any of them. The 99 was a great shooting gun, shot it for 15 years, and had zero problems with it. Then some ass stole it, and my Citori out of my garage, so I bought the BT100 to replace it. To be honest, I like the 100 better than the 99, it is better set up for shooting trap, and has the drop out trigger. I am not familiar with the new BT99, that replaced the 100, but I have heard it is very well set up.
    Bottom line, you can not go wrong buying a Browning trap gun, of any configuration, for the money. If you can, try out whatever one you decide to buy, before you buy it. It will make a huge difference in your shooting.

    either one is fine. i prefer the 99 myself. remember, more gadgets..more problems.

    I own and shoot a BT-100. I like it alot and when I do my part it smokes the target. I would suggest staying away from the factory adjustable combs. The hardware Browning uses is cheap and I have replaced mine.

    I bought my 15 year old son a BT-99 MAX stainless and to be honest we love it. My 17 year old got a Citori Grade VI trap as well and loves it. As to the BT-99, a friend of mine did shoot trap quite a bit, has won at the Grand a few times, and he was telling me that the new blue BT-99s were having a few minor problems. Seems they are wearing more than the older ones or the 100. My 2 cents is if you find a BT-99 MAX, a few years old, you would not go wrong but before I bought a brand new BT-99 I would ask around to see if Browning has solved the minor wear problems. This info on wear came from last years Grand at Valdaia(spelling) Ohio.

    Thanks very much for all the replies and info. As I type this post, I am ready to go to trap range with my own BT-100. Yes I came across fellow shooter yesterday who bought a 12ga BT-100 with thumbhole stock and who came across a PERAZZI, later on, that he became addicted to. He stated that BT-100 had about 300 shells through it. He asked for the same money that he was about to trade it in for his PERAZZI. Final price with the transfer fee was 795$ and I got a case of Winchester AA target loads from him as a present.
