You might try looking at a Walther P22. They are good shooting little gun with good ergonomics, they look good, and they're accurate. Just a suggestion.

Second the motion on the P22. My wife loves hers!

Or you could buy the Taurus PT92 and get one of Ciener's .22 conversion kits. Have the best of both worlds.

also, the P22...I enjoy shooting mine as much as anything I've got....someday, when I've got $500.00 to burn, Walther makes a suppressor just for the P22....$250.00 for can, $200.00 federal stamp, $50.00 gunsmith to do it right...

what about the Beretta Neos? it's a nice looking gun and in the mid 250's price-wise.A bit heavier than some, but seems like a nice piece.

I have been happy with my stainless 4" Ruger MkII. It has the lines of a Luger and is a tested and reliable design.

    Just my 2 cents.

stuart, why do you need a gunsmith? The P22 has a threaded barrel. You can get cans alot cheaper that $250 also.

Why not check your local shops for a used Colt Woodsman (or Huntsman, Targetsman, Challenger)? Used, they can often be found for less than 500 and are by far the "coolest" .22 pistol extant. Of course, it also helps that they're well built, accurate, collectible, and a Colt!
