Moving sight hood on SKS

On the SKS, the front sight post is moved laterally to adjust the windage; that is, to compensate for the rifle shooting to the right or left. I'm not sure whether the barrels are not drilled straight, or whether the receivers are not threaded right, but it's not uncommon to have to move the front sight WAY over to one side. Since the sight hood doesn't move, you are going to have to live with this. While it is possible to put the barrel in a vise & whack the sight hood repeatedly with a piece of wood, it's not going to look right, even if you able to center the sight post.
