Mount to convert a 3/8" dovetail to a 1"
The gun I have now is fitted with a 3/8" dovetail mount. I want to put a dot sight on the gun but the sight only fits on a 1" rail. It's a paintball gun so drilling and tapping is out of the question. I just want to know if someone makes a mount that will change it over from a 3/8" to a 1".
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

You gave only the measurements with out the dovetial angles. The angles
are needed also. For light use with little recoil, possibly get the 2
proper dovetailed pieces (whether male or female) and epoxy them together with such as JB weld (a 2 part epoxy) to make a adapter.
Of all the epoxies on the market I still prefer JB weld to most I have used.0 -
Find a chunk of "Weaver Rail" that has a bottom radius that's close to the receiver radius of you PB gun. Use the aformentioned "JB Weld" epoxy to secure the rail to the gun. After that it's simply a matter of getting a set of "Weaver Rings" to match the height required to clear the scope bell.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -

That was one idea that I was going to try. I just wondered if there was a less "permanent" solution.0 -
Tasco made a conversion base that would clamp on the dovetail ,the top of it was 1 inch Weaver style after you installed it ,any regular Weaver style ring would go on it. Natchez Shooter Supply had them , if you cant find them I have some around and can send to you.

Timcar86: Weaver has a conversion that fits the 3/8 dovetail with the slots for 1" rings. It is either a TO-9 or TO-10. If you cant find one let me know and I will find out the correct number.[:)] 0 -
I HAVE USED THE WEAVERS BEFORE AND AS I RECALL IT SLIDES INTO THE DOVETAIL GROOVES AS DO TIP-OFF RINGS . SEEMS LIKE IT HAD SET SCREWS TO TO HOLD IT IN PLACE . IT WAS ONE PIECE AND SLOTTED FOR DETACHABLE RINGS TO SET . THE SPACING OF THE SLOTS FOR RINGS TO SET IN CAN BE A PROBLEM . SOME REDDOTS HAVE ADJUSTMENTS FOR SPACING SOME DON'T. THE ALUMINUM BASE CAN BE SLOTTED EASILY WITH A FILE OR DREMEL IF NEEDED.
