I have two deringers I need info 1) E. ALLEN & CO. MAKERS #1656 22 cal. 4" long 2" high 2) E. Remington & Sons Ilion,NY ELLIOTS PATENT DEC 12th 1865 #1657 41 cal. 4 1/2" long 3" high chrome/wood grip over/under 2 barrel

Thank you for your reply... I'm looking for any info about these guns, what year were they made,maybe a litle bit of history about them, value, I haven't been able to find anything about them, so anything would be of interest to me... 0 -
Flayderman's Guide notes that your E. Allen, Deringer was made between 1869 & 1871. He estimates only a couple of thousand made. Value would be based on the ORIGINAL factory condition.
He estimates between $250 & $525.
The Remington, Deringer is harder to identify as Remington made a number of similar models, with similar markings from the mid 1860's to the 1880's.
If yours is a early model made without a extractor and it has the factory original nickle finish, it could conceivably be valued as much as $2000, this is based on it being in the same condition as it left the Remington factory.
