Hello toold: That would have been made in late 57 or early 58. They didn't keep exact records on the the Md 50. Value Well you didn't say what the barrel length and choke are, or if it's a Skeet gun
Md 50 with Factory Vent Rib(Off-set proof mark) with full or modified about $550-$700
With a 26 in Imp/cyl, factory rib $600-$700
A skeet gun could go as high as $1200
12ga. guns are much less, factory ribs, in that condition (98%) you start seeing them around $400-$600
Regards Dave
Sorry Bob, I didn't see the Mod choke buried in there. It still bould be a Skeet gun with a Mod choke barrel on it. toold didn't give a discription of the stocks.0 -
ive never known a skeet gun to be modified choke![:D] sounds like a 350 to 400 dollar gun to me. the prices 'winchester' quoted would most likely be for retail store owners tagging the gun. private sale...350-400.00..

toold: Your welcome!
For bob: As you know the 20ga. guns are quite a bit rarer, much less with a factory rib. My price range wasn't "retail store price". In the last 6 months there have been 2, 20ga. guns with factory ribs come up for auction. 1 was a 28 in Full, standard field it sold for $425. 2)the other was a 28 in Mod, in 99%+ with exceptional wood, it sold for $635. As you know on any given gun there has to be a buyer who is a Md 50 lover.

wow. i fear my sleeper gun is going to get popular and go sky high now![:I] i better scarf em up or itll be to late. 0 -
Bob: Anything is possible! Winchester only made about 200000 Md 50s and maybe 40-50 thousand were in 20ga. How many had a factory rib? How many left in 98% or better condition, well not many!! I know of mine, yours and toolds!!! LOL for the record, the last 20ga factory vent rib barrel I saw come up for sale, well I bought it for $200. A set of stocks will go for $125 plus. So if you find a 20ga. in 98% for $400 or less buy it, you wont lose! Regards Dave
One more thing, Simmons,(the rib guys) converted Md 50's to 3in, (meant for paper shells only) those are starting to bring a premium too!0
