    Depends on if is from the old H&R or the newer H&R at least on the 999 Sportsman. These are good accurate dependable guns.

    The above referenced H&Rs give a good cross section. The Model 999 Sportsman as illustrated is their best model and as good a value as any .22 revolver. The Model 922 has been around since the 1920s or before and has had a lot of changes. All were good enough for their time but the later ones with positive lock up of the cylinder are their highest development. The earlier 'spin free' cylinder model is shown as is the positve lock type. The positive lockup type has a rectangular slot visible on the side of the cylinder at the cylinder stop cut. Both types visible in the reference. I don't know of a "target model" 922 unless it is the one with the sawhandle grip, which dates from the earliest production period and really has no special "target" virtues.
