Is a 25 WSSM a good round? How longe range is it? Is it accurate? What is a good gun for it?

    Can anyone direct me to reloading info for the 25 wssm? I have a Hodgdons manual, but most of there loads are H- powders,(immagine that)I would like to see something with Dupont or other powders.

    The first suggestion that I usually make is to visit the ShortMags website: http://www.shortmags.org/shortmags/

    Besides bunches of technical information, there is a forum that has lots of threads regarding virtually all of the ShortMags. The information on the 25 WSSM's is a little thin since the rifles are just now getting into the supply pipeline.

    Like some of the folks on ShortMags, I bought my own reamer several months ago and I have been working with two rifles for different applications. If you have something specific to ask about, give a holler.

    nononsense, thanks for the reply. I got the gun on saturday after a 3 week wait. I just got shells today, have to drive 50 miles to a cabelas to find them. won't be able to shoot it for about a week. But it it is anything like the 25-06 it will be great.I'll let you guys know what I think after I get a couple of boxes through it! thanks jurdan

    i post at shortmags , i like the forum , it isnt as busy as this one though . what rifle did you get ? which bullet did you choose ? what are you going to be hunting ?i have to agree with thinman on the .270wsm , great caliber[:)] !

    I GOT THE WINCHESTER SHADOW, I'M GOING TO SHOOT 115 AND 120 AND SEE WHICH 1 THE GUN LIKES.IT WILL BE USED FOR DEER AND WOODCHUCKS. DOES ANYONE ELSE LOAD FOR IT BESIDES WINCHESTER? HAVE NOT SHOT IT YET, BUT WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT I THINK WHEN I DO.
