    There is a spring that is broken. It is available from many sources, so getting one shouldn't be difficult. The difficult part is the slide must be disassembled to replace it.

    The spring seems to be functioning OK it just gets stuck out often.

    Disassemble, clean, lube, inspect. You really didn't need anyone to tell you that did you?

    With it unloaded, point the muzzle to the ceiling and shake it. If the indicator comes out, then the spring is broken or gone. It is a common thing. I have one that does the same thing.
