I have one, and I love it. The really good thing is that Sig makes 40 S&W barrels that will fit in the 357 frame. If you buy the second barrel you can shoot either caliber with the same sun. I have about 500 rounds through mine with no FTF's. It is a great gun, you can't go wrong. Just so you know, you can buy a 226 in 40 and then buy the 357 barrel also. 0 -
I have the 226 in 40. It is a great gun. I also have a 220 and a 239. All fantastic weapons, you just can't go wrong with a Sig . I paid $580 for the 226 nib. They are not cheap but I have no regrets at all. You might buy a used Sig cheaper, they seem indestructible, and save a few bucks, but once you get used to it I bet you forget what you paid. It's true you can get different barrels for the 226 , but it seems to me easier and cheaper to get the 357 barrel with the gun then check out the market for a used 40, seems like many more are on the market. 357 sig is a fantastic round but they are not cheap. You can get valuepack 40's at walmart for around $12-14 bucks for practice rounds , then use 357 for carry, if that is your intent, JMHO Dandy 0 -
I have a SIG P226 in 9mm........one of the best pistols I have ever owned. No jams, no stovepipes, no problems..... You might chenk out CDNN in Texas....www.CDNN.com. They have a lot of used/police turn ins right now at reasonable prices.
