C.S. SHATTUCK SXS SHOTGUN ???
1. 12 gauge SXS
2. ANSON & DEALY style boxlock action
3. 29" BBL`s (damascus)
4. double triggers (one for each BBL)
5. LEFT OF RECIEVER:"C.S. SHATTUCK. HATFIELD. MASS."
"PAT. JAN.5.1897."
6. bakalite buttplate, stylized "S" banner "CS SHATTUCK HATFIELD MASS" in the "banner" field. (no, its no a LINCOLN / GARFIELD buttplate)
7. SER# 6667 (all #`s matching)
8. 2" BLOW OUT on the right BBL1/4 back from muzzle
i cannot find this one in my referance library. i am familiar with there revolvers, single shot pistols, flare guns, etc...
i cannot find a listing for shotguns, or "trade name" guns using there nomenclature.
i thought that the patd date makes this way to late to be a CS SHATTUCK???
i am at a loss to ID this one...
any help would be appreciated.
best regards, mike.

According to the shotgun book, the markings on your shotgun are correct. They identify it as the model 1897.
Shattuck went out of business in 1909, also per the same reference.
