My wife bought me a mini 14 ranch rifle for Christmas. I want to put a scope on it and would like it to match the finish on the rifle. The rifle is ss with a walnut stock. I would like to install a good quality scope. Not the top of the line and not a cheap POS. Your feedback in this matter is appreciated.

    thanks

I have a number of BSA Catseye scopes. They are hardly state of the art but realistically neither is the mini when it comes to long range shooting. Don't get me wrong. I have two Ruger m-14's and love them. I think the BSA will do as good a job as a mega-bucks scope on this rifle.

bsa scope should do fine on a mini 14.i have one and use a leupold on it,but you are looking at a big difference in price.it really comes down to what you are wanting to spend on optics,i prefer leupold to most other scopes.

BSA is a desent scope for a mini. you may want to look into a NC-star, they make a 4x30 scope with a built in bullit drop compensator that has the mini 14 mount built on it! you take off the side plate on the lefthand side of the receiver and put in a plate that they provide with the scope. then the mount slides on the plate and you tighten down the screw knob. you are done. the scope usually sells for around 40.00. this is a compact scope, and is proportional to the weapon. ive sold quite a few and have had really good results with them.

I pulled out a wad of bills for a really good scope.
It was great... you could see your 6 inch / 200 yard groups just as clear and fine as can be. !!

I'm still happy with the gun, I just put a low end scope on it.

If we do not hang together,
We will most certainly hang separately.

It seems you already have some really good imput on this subject, but I am going to add my two cents.I have a BSA 30mm red dot and that is about all you need unless you plan on accurizing the rifle. If you want some info on how to do this, send me an E-mail.If you are serious about accuracy, there are ways to get 1" groups with the mini.NO LIE!![;)]
