I have a chance to buy a winchester 30-30,,buffalo bill comm issue,,unfired but no box,,I can't find it in any book,,I can find all the other comm 30-30s,,anybody have an idea of it's value

    M94 Buffalo Bill, .30-30 Commemorative Carbine... as issued, New in the original box...$425.00......

    Hard to place a value on a Commemorative without the Box...Probably lose %25 because of the loss...........

    300 FOR A NEW UNFIRED BUFFALO BILL COMMERATIVE IN MY MARKET WOULD BE A BUY. NEW PRODUCTION MODEL 94 COST THAT MUCH OR MORE. GOOD LUCK,

    spookster: I agree with Duckhunter on this, $300 is a good buy. I do see boxes for these special 94s come up for sale everynow and then. Don't let the fact that it has no box scare you away.
    These guns were much better made than the standard post 64 Md 94.

    Hey, Dave!
    I'd sincerely be interested how these were made better or differently than other post-64's. I was really interested in the Legendary Frontiersman when it came out in what, about 1980 or so? I already had an old 38-55, so I decided to pass. I have a coupla pre-64's and one post, the first .375 "Big Bore".
    What really is the difference between them, aside from crappy cosmetics?

    Good morning timberbeast: Well first off, most of the Commemoratives, had 2x to 4x grade wood, as opposed to the old straight grain walnut. Some were hand checkered, better finish, and better wood to metal fit. Some such as the Buff. Bill had engraving. In general, they had better workmanship than the standard 94. As an example the Legendary Fronteriersman, had a silver plated receiver, that receiver would have been polished slightly different to accept the silver plating. On a side note, my book says, (Leg. Frontiersman) those came out in 1979, with 19999 being produced. Those are just some of the examples why I feel they were better made than the standard post 64, Md 94. Regards Dave
