45-70 Ammunition Source

HAIRY
Am looking for a source of 45-70 ammo, with either blackpowder or pryodex for targets. Anyone have a link? Tanx.

    HAIRY, I've not used their products but what I've heard of this company has all been positive:

    The Pyrodex "CTG" grade product was discontinued a few years ago and is nearly impossible to find. I had / was able to obtain three pounds for AdamsQuailHunter last year, but I've not seen any since . . . so I suspect you are locked into BP loadings at this point. Likely a local individual could make these up for you for much less than $1.50+ a round (I sure would hope so!).

    You might also direct a query to mrmike0875 . . . he works or worked for a fellow who does a great deal of custom loading and they seem to be knowledgeable professionals.

    You know, don't you, that this is a great excuse to start loading yourself, right?! [;)]

    If I come across any other sources, I'll let you know.

    Iconoclast: According to my wife, I become "obsessed" when I take something on (my acquisition of guns, for example!!!). She claims she doesn't want the house filled with powder, equipment, primers, etc., and when I try to explain I won't do that, she just laughs. So much for my reloading. [:(]

    Thanks for your help. I found the ammo at, of all places, Cheaper Than Dirt!!! Cor-bon makes it for cowboy shooting. Yipee!! [:D]
