686 misfires
bought a used 686 off gb a couple weeks ago.took it out today and tried some s&b 357 ammo through it.in double action i am getting a lot of misfire(fail too fire).i tightened the screw on the spring as tight as it would go and still misfires.who sells a spring kit for this gun?any other suggestions?thanks don

I personally have had problems with S & B handgun ammo in other firearms. I believe that the primers on their handgun ammo are appreciably harder then normal U S commerical primers.
Try some U S manufactured ammo, if you continue having problems, get some replacement springs from Wolff.

THANKS RUFE-SNOW I ORDERED A NEW SPRING KIT FOR THE GUN FROM WOLF.I FORGOT TOO MENTION THAT I SHOT SOME 38 RELOADS THRU IT AND IT DID THE SAME THING.I WILL INSTALL THE NEW MAINSPRING AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS THANKS DON 0 -
Hello it sounds like someone before you tried some home "smith" work trying to get lighter trigger pull just hope they didn't screw with trigger and hammer. I would put in a new set of springs last thing you need is a sometime goes bang pistol unless you want to see if you have a flinch problem. quote:"praise the hardball gun" 0
