Marlin model 336, 30-30
Good evenin gentlemen and ladies, my question is this...
I own a marlin 30-30, model 336, my father gave this gun to me, it has a 19.5 inch barrell, serial #24008265, the barrel is stamped,,,the marlin firearms co. north haven, conn., U.S.A EST.1870 micro-groove barrel-mod.336 cal. 30-30 win, I think he bought this gun in the 1970s, but with your help you might be able to tell me year and if it is a carbine or just what I have!!! by the way! about a month ago I killed a 237lb wild hog boar, one shot in the neck droped like a fly,2 inch tusk!my first hog, 150 grain hollow point, with this gun,,,, here in missouri,, very proud man that day, not alot of them here, im am in the top north east corner of missouri, any way keep up the good work and thanks alot,,, Terry Malone

Yes indeed , I also own a marlin 336 RC in the 30-30 cal. , and I also have killed many a game (deer,boar,ect.) in the years past ...
Dont remember what the "RC" on my means (I'LL have to look it up?),
but a very good item in that caliber , just remember the limitations on this caliber and you will always be pleased ...Good Luck !!!!

RC = Regular Carbine according to all I have ever heard. I have never seen such a reference in print though. 0 -
