are there many of these around, and what is a decent value for one in about 95 or better bluing and wood with a 3 digit serial number? I'm working with a guy and want to make sure we are both getting a fair deal. thanks

  The deerstalker is the first model 44 carbine but stamped "deerstalker".
  
  There were 3750 made in 1961 & 62 only. In 95% cond $550.00 and $600.00 for 98% cond.
