norinco sks price

i found a norinco sks in the local newspaper for $125. is this a good price, and what is a norinco, i thought these were chinease made, but i might be wrong. i thought i heard that norinco stopped importing them after the ban, so they are all preban. please clarify.

    yes norinco's are from china my understanding is all weapons from china are banned where as its ok for a sks from ugoslovia is ok im not 100% sure though so some one else may be able to give a better answer

    i have a NORINCO SKS, and its a nice gun. mine is all milled parts as opposed to stamped. fit and finish are superb. i bought it new, and its a real tight, well made gun. gunshow prices on used, milled NORINCO SKS rifles have been exceeding the $200.00 mark for several years. there are stamped example and copies from other countries selling for less. i think that the CHINESE MILLED SKS is superior to most versions. the RUSSIAN and some ALBANIAN variants are better than the chinese. i feel strongly that milled stock guns are better than stamped sheet metal pieces.

    I like my Yugo sks. Its milled and durable and you can get them for around $100. The Norinco's do have a chrome lined bore which will extend the life of the barrel but I think as long as you clean your barrel after shooting it doesnt matter much. $125 is a good price for a Norinco though. If thats what you want, I would jump on it.

    I had one with a non folding synthetic stock. Paid $175 for it about 12 years ago. Was as good a shooter as there was for that type of open sight rifle. Traded for a Russian, not sure I upgraded a lot. The non fold. para stock had the ability to change length of pull, important if you have long arms, made it much more comfy to shoot.
    Stock length is only beef I had with the chinese, but there are many ways to remedy that.

    i went ahead and bought the norinco for 125. it appears to be in like new condition. the stock is better than any stock i have seen on an sks, its not shiny or "sporterized" but just quality with no scratches. the numbers dont match, and it didnt come with a bayonet but i think i will put one on soon, as soon as i verify that this is legal. thanks for the help.
