What model number?
Keep off the Ridgeline0 -
Since you didn't provide much in the way of info. I'll take a guess that it is the M&P Hand Ejector (pre-model 10) and the s/n that you provided would put it around 1916 or so. 
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -

If it is what I think it is you won't find a model number as they didn't start that until 1957.
No idea where the "B" came from as the only "B" prefix used by Smith was for the Model 61 Escort and that sure isn't what you've described.
The 3018 is an assembly or "bin" number.

The 'B' stamp on the bottom of the barrel indicates that blue was the original factory finsih. A 'star' stamped on the rear of the cylinder would indicate some sort of factory re-work, possibly a refinish to the current nickel finish.
The serial number tells us it's an early .38 Hand Ejector, Model of 1905-4th Change Military & Police (M&P). The so-called "4th Change" began at S/N 241704 in 1915. With a S/N of less that 28,000 above the starting number, I personally suspect yours would be from the first year of 4th Change production.
You didn't ask, but yes you can shoot it, but I'd avoid +P ammo.[;)]
