DOM Winchester mod. 75 "Target"

I was wondering if any of you could help me with the DOM of my friends Winchester model 75 target. it is believed to be post WWII. He would also like to know approximate value of it. I would rate it in NRA excellent condition with factory sights and an anchutz adjustable butt pad.

Serial number is: 58665

    Dave W.: The book says it was manufactured in 1949. Based on your rating, $300-$400, however the non-factory butt plate takes it out of any collecters category. Most likey you would have to find a buyer who didn't mind that to get the above price.Hope this helps you. You could also search GB for the Md 75 and see what they are going for.

    If you guys don't quit putting the word "Winchester" in your post titles our resident "W" expert will never get caught up when he gets back from fishing.

    As it is now, it'll probably take him a couple of weeks to correct all of only winchesters responces.[;)]

    Dave W.: Did some searching on the net, two auction sites, one listing sight. this is what I saw:
    1) Md 75 Target in Excel. cond. sold for $450
    2) " " " " with a scope and recoil pad sold for $400
    3) 5 different guns with bids from $250 - $400, where the reserve price wasn't met, (guns did not sell after several relistings)
    4) one sold for $295. Condition unknown
    5) One sold for $595, condition 99%
    6) One with a starting price of $425- No bids
    7) One with a starting price of $495- No bids

    So with that info, since there were about 90000 of these made between the Target version and Sporter, the market for them is there, but not strong, since guns go with out bids, to several relistings to being for salefor 60 days or more. Again the only way to find out what your friends Md 75 will bring is put it up for auction with a high reserve, and see what kind of bids you get.
