winchester 12 ga. pump, 1897 model
Hi,
I have picked up a Winchester 12 ga. Pump, 1897 field grade, 30" barrel. It still has some blueing on the barrel and the action does seem tight. The wood stock and pump forarm are in excellent condition. Inside of the barrels are nice and shinney. action seem still tight. Can anyone give me an estimated as to it's value.
Thank you, Dr. J.T.

Good morning clockprof, welcome to the forum. In a nut shell about $200-$500. Alot depends on the originality of the gun. A gun with "some blueing" and excellent stocks, I would believe the stocks have been replaced. You don't say if it's a "take down" or solid frame version. Big price difference between the two. Early guns had a round knob pistol grip, which was changed to a flat pistol grip, around S/N 300000. Need more info to pin the price down closer.
