does anybody know if there is a an over/under out there with one barrel a rifle and the other a shotgun? My dad says that he thinks he remembers one when he was a kid. If so, any thoughts on them?

  Brno ZH 300 series has, last time I checked, 27 different sets of barrels -- shotgun/shotgun; rifle/shotgun; rifle/rifle. All interchange without fitting.
  
  I've written about this wonderful machine before. Just do a search for it.
  
  I also have an isometric-parts list for it.

  Baikal makes the combo in several centerfire rifles, Savage may, but it may only be with a 22. Countless companies make a "survival" piece with a .410 and .22, but if you want the centerfire, check out Baikal at www.eaacorp.com

  Savage made many combinations of these. I believe calibers available were .22, .22mag, .222,.22 hornet, 30-30 and probably a few others.

  Had a Savage in .22 rimfire/.410 and .222/20 ga. Check www.savagearms.com They still make them (tho not cheap) model 24F.
