Welcome to the Ask the Experts Forum: First off....The Remington Wingmaster does not use a Detachable Magazine...{Clip}...The gun has a Tube Magazine under the barrel.
In the condition You discribe....its worth $100.00 to $125.00....

    REMINGTON STILL MAKES THIS MODEL.

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

The Remington Model 870 is an excellent shotgun well worth spending some repair money to bring it up to snuff. I've had a Wingmaster in 12 gauge for about 25 years now and it will be passed on to one of my grandkids. I would agree with the Capt. on the value with the defects you listed. He is also correct in that the 870 has a tube magazine-not a clip.

JUST A THOUGHT, ALL REM. PUMP AND AUTO SHOTGUNS (SINCE THE 1950'S ANY WAY) HAVE A SMALL PLATE BETWEEN THE BUTT STOCK AND RECEIVER(STOCK BEARING PLATE). IF THIS PLATE IS NOT INSTALLED AND THE GUN FIRED THE STOCK WILLBE DAMAGED. SMALL CHIPS WILL COME OFF BEHIND THE RECEIVER.

The only part of the 870 that could pass for a "clip," is a retainer ring that fits in the end of the magazine tube. Its purpose is to keep the magazine spring in place when the barrel is removed. The gun will function, and function well, without it.

You just have to remember it isn't there when removing the barrel. Unscrew the magazine cap and the spring will launch if you aren't prepared.
