What is the procedure for taking the end off the magazine tube?
I think someone put a stick in the one I just bought, using it for a plug. I can hear it moving back and forth when I tilt the gun.

  can an xpert answer this: are the buttstocks interchangeable between a 16 ga gun and a 12 ga gun? Thanx in advance.

  Good morning cody45. The Md 1897/97 used the same receiver for both 12 and 16 ga. guns. (Ref: Stadt ansd Maddis) So since the same receiver was used for both, I would say the stocks are the same.
