Browning Invector Chokes
Anyone experience choke tubes loosening when the barrel heats? No matter how tight even when tightened with hot barrel the top barrel tube comes loose, Browning factory Investors (not Plus) of barrel length type and Carlson extended tubes. Purchased the Carlsons after having the problem with both a full, IM and Mod factory tubes, discovered when I noticed a POI change. I cleaned threads with brush and solvent, even sprayed gunscruber, then used a real choke lube and tighened with wrench(with alota leverage)but after 25 to 30 shells loose again. At least with the extended tubes, I can reach up and snug tight in the middle of round. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem, and tried different lubes until I tried one with copper flakes in it. I don't remember the brand name but I have never had one loosen again. But I still check them during the round when moving from station to station.

Similar problem here. I shoot with Invectors, and they keep coming loose after a round of clays. My shooting coach told me that I just had to screw them in tighter between rounds. I guess there isn't much you can do about it. If you find a solution, let me know. Good luck. 0 -
You're lucky. Most have trouble getting them out, including me. The stuff you're looking for is called 'Never Seize- Copper'. They also make with aluminum flakes(silver, which you don't want). It can be found or ordered at most auto parts stores (FelPro brand), some farm equipment shops, www.midwayusa.com, www.precisionreloading.com or your local Caterpillar tractor dealer(the best). However, this is to keep the threads from seizing so you don't want big gobs of this on the threads, just a good coating. 0
