poor fit
I just bought a CVA blackpowder rifle a few weeks ago, and there's a problem. The barrel is one of these easy drop-in, held by one screw types, and it doesn't fit all that well. Here's what I mean: the barrel fits TIGHT at the rear end, where the screw holds it, but there is a gap between it and the foreend in the last 2 inches or so. The gap is less than 1/4 of an inch, but the barrel can be wobbled, if you force it to. Otherwise, it just stays where it's at. I've never fired it, since I'm not sure if it would be safe or not. Should I be concerned about safety, or should I just run a few rounds through it to test for accuracy? Thanks.

I have 2 CVA BP guns and the fit is fine and tight on both. I would take the gun to a gunsmith and let them take a look at it.. IF you do decide to shoot it ..do a light load first. 0 -
Take it back to the dealer you bought it from. It's new, it's under warranty. CVA is a good company and I see no reason they won't make it right. 
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -

I never sent in the warranty card, though, so will that screw me over, or can I still get it taken care of?0 -
I'd still take it to the dealer or call/write the company. For the most part the warrantee card has little to do with them honoring the warrantee. Where do you think they get their mailing lists? The only other thing the warrantee is for is it would be proof if stolen/really bad fire for insurance and for factory warnings/recalls of defects. 0 -
Shame on You! Thats why You get a Warranty Card with a New Purchase...Just for things like You have at present...You can always try....They won't say anything but No..........then...maybe you'll luck out and get a big Yes...and a Good lesson for further purchases....

Hopefully you saved your sales receipt; that's all you really need as proof of when you bought the rifle to be covered under warranty. Emery
