What can I expect to pay for a new or used (good condition) Colt Cowboy?

    I cannot find any information or value on these two revolvers.
    1 Colt Cowboy 45 Colt Roy Rodgers Happy Trails, Gold and silver plated in walnut box.
    1 Colt Cowboy 45 Colt Roy Rodgers National Historical Society, Blue with Stag grips, In walnut box. Both are brand new in the box.

    the COLT COWBOY in not a current production item. COLT has reintroduced the SAA revolver, and ceased making the COWBOY. you may still be able to find a COWBOY NIB (new in box) for sale online, or perhaps on the shelf at a shop, but they are scarce at this point. i am told that COLT took all remaining stock in there inventory and sent them to the COLT CUSTOM SHOP for engraving, nickel plating, or other custom order upgrades.

    my father bought one of the last "new" COLT COWBOY revolvers, and got a great deal. it would probably cost at least $1000.00 to get one from COLT. a dealer or online seller will probably charge you in the $600.00-$750.00 range for a new in box version.

    used is a cheaper option, but the recent onset in SASS and COWBOY ACTION SHOOTING popularity has caused a sharp spike in the price of these guns new or used. i cannot recall seeing a used COWBOY for sale. as far as overall production numbers go, the total for the COWBOY is rather small when compared to the other COLT SAA revolvers.

    you may get lucky and find a used COWBOY in the $400.00-$500.00 range at a show or in a private sale, but chances are not high of that occuring. i can only locate 1 for sale here on GB.
