Ted Williams shotgun model 75
How much is my gun worth? It is a Sears Roebuck and Company shot gun Ted Williams model 75. It shoots 2 3/4 and 3 inch. It's in great condition. Can anyone tell me how much it's worth? Just curious, I'm not going to sell it. [8D]

Sorry, none of my crossover lists shows a Sears, JC Higgins or TW model 75, so I cannot track it to base model and manufacturer. You probably know that used value is determined by demand and that the valuable guns are the ones that are rare, or that demand collector value. Win Model 70's are not rare, but the perception is that they are the best bolt action ever built, so they command a handsome price. Unfortunately that is not true of the deparment store guns. They were built for the stores by a manufacturer, usually with lesser wood, or lacking other bells and whistles so they could be sold for a modest price. In almost all cases (actually I can't think of an exception) they command less, often by a substantial margin, than the underlying model with the manufacturers name. If you can find a cross reference showing the underlying model subtract $100-150 from the value of the manufacturers gun. In many cases $100-$150 will buy a Sears model. Have a JC Higgins myself. Would not sell for much, but is is a great .22 and still shoots better than I do (or ever did!) after 45 years. 0 -
crush, there should be another model # on the barrel or reciever that will look like 101.502....This will be the sears # for a crossover to see what company made the the gun.
