'06 magazine rifle

You may be interested to know that during WWI the were some 20 round magazines adapted to the '03 springfield. The wrapper was labeled "Air Service". I bought some from Sarco many years ago.

  joel_black, Have you tried loading those magazines? The Air Service magazine held 25 rounds.

  It was rather the other way 'round. Some 910 Model '03 Springfields ("Stripped for Air Service") were adapted to handle a 25-round box magazine for issue to Balloon Observers.
