winchester model 62
can anyone give me DOM and maybe a close value on this little rifle.Model 62 winchester pump 22 S L or LR. serial # 19528x. 22 1/2" barrel in about 85 % condition overall. has very good bluing left but very light surface rust and a couple of brighter spots on the barrel above the rear sight like it had been hanging in a rack for a long time. The wood is in at least 90% with good grain and very few dings.the only two things I can see not original is the screw on the right side of the forearm has been replaced and the plunger that slides into the mag tube is not original

Can you tell me what a winchester model 62 that is at least 69 years old and in excellent condition is worth? 0 -
Hello sharpshooter039...
The serial number indicates a DOM circa 1947. The barrel length shoulod be 23" versus 22 1/2" (but I suspect that you did not measure the section of the barrel that is screwed into the frame). The fact that this rifle has been fooled with (the non original parts), does not do it any good, and is a negative impact on the collectability and value. Frankly, without seeing it for myself, I am very hesitant to say what it might possibly be worth.

thanks for the DOM,your right about the barrel length being 23", I was using a yardstick and just butted it to the reciever.the two meanie parts should be an easy fix,all I need to find is an action slide handle screw and an original inner magazine tube,e-gunparts has them both for under $20. 0
