L.C Smith hinge pin

Could one of the experts on this board tell me how to tighten the hinge pin on a hunter built L.C. the gun locks up real tight but is slighty loose when open. Or is this something I should not attempt, and just bring it to a gunsmith? Thanks!!

  if it was something that i could live with, i'd leave it alone. otherwise take it to a smith.

  Very unlikely the hingepin if the gun locks properly. Much more likely the forend cap is out of adjustment.
