a flash hider is illegal for a post ban weapon, but you CAN install a muzzle brake and be legal. you can usually find them at gun shows. a postban muzzle brake is usually affixed by set screws and to be successful in keeping it on , you have to ether spot weld it on or silver soder it or do what they call dippling the barrel. dippling the barrel is taking a drill bit and creating a divit each place the set screws will contact the barrel, to give the screw a place to hold in to. if not the brake will land down range about 30 yards on about your 3rd shot!!!! if you have a problem in finding one , contact me!!

Why do you want a flash hider? If it is just for looks go with a muzzle brake. Unless of course you plan on getting in a fire fight at night...

I'd rather have a flash hider on a 16" carbine to cut down on the flash and muzzle blast. Muzzle brakes on 16" semiauto ARs don't buy you Richard. They just increase the discomfort.
