what kind of barrel should i get for a 10/22 that has the best accuracy?

    i have a 10/22 stainless with a stainless deerfield scope and sling carbine. kind of a grayish black woodgrain laminate stock. great shape whats a fair price? thanks charlie good looking unit

    I have a shooting buddy who recently bought the Butler Creek barrel and installed a Power Custom trigger group in his 10/22 and he now has a gun that performs really admirably. I believe the BC barrel unit is not in the upper escelon of price for 10/22 replacement barrels and would be a good choice. The Power Custom trigger group, however, is not cheap. He says (and I agree after shooting it) that the trigger group made most of the difference in the newfound accuracy as the stock Ruger trigger is not all that good out of the box.

    If you haven't fixed the trigger then no barrel is going to help you. I tried a spring kit, but next thing I will do is replace the trigger group with a good aftermarket.

    I did the same project as above with the Butler Creek barrel and stock and Power Custom sear and spring kit.It shoots better than I can,but if I knew what I know now ,the trigger job would probably been all I needed.

    Volquartsen will cut the chamber to what ever ammo you like....that makes a big difference in terms of accuracy.

    the factory trigger is a little stiff ,however you can get used to that.in my opinion you dont need to change the barrel unless you are going to be shooting high velocity ammo at ranges over 50-60 yds.I have a standard 10/22 and after adjusting to the trigger it will hold 1/2 moa @ 50 yds.I am not sure what kind of accuracy you want but you may be able to save some money by just getting used to it.I hope this is helpful.

    Lilja makes the best; you'll spend the rest of your life trying to do it justice. They are a little pricey, though.
