this guy wants to sell me a mossberg model 500 16 ga. he says that they are few and far between. is this true? 0 -
I don't remember ever seeing one in over fourty years of haunting gun shops/shows,so I"m thinking 'yes'.
so is 16 ga. ammo for the most part.
I wouldnt' pay a lot for it unless NIB...new in box...as a collecter.

MADE IN LATE 60'S THRU MID 70'S I BELIEVE .
MOST I'VE SEEN HAD ADJUSTABLE CHOKES BUT THERE WAS SOME WITHOUT AND SOME MADE WITH SLUG BARRELS . USUALLY BRING $125.00 - $150.00 IN GOOD COND..

If all you are looking for is a mossberg to shoot with. you can buy one brand new in 12 or 20 guage for about $175 so unless you have other reasons for buying it I wouldnt reccomend paying any moore than 100-150 for it if it is in good condition.

Mossberg and low end winchesters are in my opinion good truck guns,
but they're action ,trigger and safety are pretty rough at least the few I have fired. If you want a good beater gun get one.My buddy
has a Mossberg, it looks and like a piece of crapbe he's always got frozen venizon.
I'll tell you a very big part of the "end result" (downed game)isn't the gun ,it's the operator!I was taught that along with "when you fall, break a bone don't break the rifle".0 -
.16's may be a little rarer but they have no collectors interest so dont pay a premium for one.
God gave us all a gift. Have you found yours yet ?0
