From what I have seen savage mod 10 are short actions and
the mod. 110 are long action.
They do make a mod. 110 in .223,.243,.308 so the best I can
tell they make these cals in both long and short

Do you have your old stock???
    How is your action marked???

It might help to give us the model number from the barrell and the actual length of the action.

Don I also was under the impression that the caliber was the factor in determining the lenght of the action. I also have a Savage 112 in 22.250 and thought for a long time it was a short action. I just recently restocked it and found it to be a long action. The length

of the bolt and receiver determine long vs short action. I believe most if not all Savage 110 series to be a long action.

The .223 is a short action cartridge. All 3 digit numbers {110, 112 etc.} as it refers to Savage are long actions.

Savage used the same action(long)for all calibers on the 110.I have a 243 and a 30-06=Same action, diffrent caliber.I think Savage started making a true short action in recent years.
